Lake Kočevje

Lake Kocevje – (Kočevsko jezero - Rudniško jezero)
This artificial lake beginnings go back to 1973, when they ended with excavations on brown coal - surface mine. In 1978 the pit was flooded and from then on it is home for many fish and bird species. It lies on northern-east part of city of Kočevje.
Lake is 800 m long and 500 m wide and deepest parts goes down to 34 m below surface. Lake is very clear and rich - not only with carp. Some very nice Wels catfish and also some huge Carps were caugt over here.
People whitch are working on Carp and C&R fishing on this lake are making this lake one of the most atractive C&R lakes in Slovenia. And also this is the lake in which a new record carp could be expected in the future.
